Going Up (Lucky Pants)

As someone who has never had a desk job but always likes to dress up nice, the idea of professional attire or business-casual for a place where you sit down in an office for 8 hours a day has always felt silly to me. I made this piece in homage to a pair of decent quality slacks I altered freshman year into comedic pinstripe chaps, complete with cartoon boxers. I wanted to depict a hypothetical office setting, or perhaps an elevator ride to a job interview, in reference to the job hunt I was doing at the time of the original project. Ironically, I was caught in a phone interview right after the pants project critique, and while wearing my apparently lucky chaps I managed to get the job.
