Business in the Front, Party in the Book

More recently, I have become interested in artist books and how narrative and form add/affect a viewer’s experience with a book. Extending from that, I was thinking about “business in the front, party in the back” and how that relates to the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”. So, my final piece, at a first glance, is a very unsuspecting book, but upon further interaction with the book, it unfolds (literally) to create a more compelling narrative that dissects our theme and allows for the book form to become sort of sculpture as well.
